Religions: Libraries and Dialogue Special Interest Group

In keeping with the thematic focus of the next World Library Information Congress, “Transform Libraries, transform Societies”, the IFLA Religions: Libraries and Dialogue Special Interest Group propose a session. It will be organised on the theme:

“Interreligious dialogue, information and documentation in a context of transformation”.

  • How can libraries of all types encourage development and pursuit the implementation of interreligious dialogue?
  • How can libraries transmit knowledge about religious heritage?
  • How are libraries facing a changing religious context and the need for interreligious dialogue in their societies?

All the colleagues and professional who wish to share their experiences in the various aspects outlined above are invited to send a proposal by 15 February 2018.

The session will have a time slot of two hours for lively discussions and sharing of information.

Submissions

All the colleagues and professional who wish to share their experiences in the various aspects outlined above are invited to send a proposal by 15 February 2018.

Important Dates/Deadlines

15 February 2018:

Submission of abstracts (with 200-words),

20 February 2018 :

Acknowledgement of receipt, with provisional acceptance/rejection,

27 February 2018 :

Submission of four page extended outline of paper,

15 March 2018 :

Notification of acceptance,

8 May 2018 :

Submission of completed draft paper,

26 June 2018 :

Submission of final paper,

17 July 2018 :

Submission of Conference Presentation PowerPoint.

Please note

At least one of the paper’s authors must be present to deliver a summary of the paper during the program in Malaysia. Abstracts should only be submitted with the understanding that the expenses of attending the conference will be the responsibility of the author(s)/presenter(s) of accepted papers.

All papers that are presented at the WLIC 2018 will be made available online via the IFLA Library under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license.

Authors of accepted papers must complete the IFLA Authors’ Permission Form.

All expenses, including registration for the conference, travel, accommodation etc., are the responsibility of the authors/presenters. No financial support can be provided by IFLA, but a special invitation letter can be issued to authors.
